About MCP Link Layer

What is MCP Link Layer?

MCP Link Layer is a platform for hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. We make it easy to connect AI assistants like Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code Copilot, Cline, Zed, and 30+ other MCP clients to external tools and services — without requiring users to run Docker containers or manage infrastructure themselves.

We currently offer over 60 pre-configured MCP server integrations, including GitHub, Slack, PostgreSQL, Notion, Stripe, and many more.

How It Works

MCP Link Layer hosts MCP servers in the cloud. Users browse our marketplace, add their credentials for third-party services (e.g. GitHub, Slack, databases), and receive a simple configuration snippet they can paste into their AI client. The servers run on our infrastructure — no local setup required.

Gateway

The Gateway is our central access point: a single URL that unifies all of a user's MCP servers. Instead of configuring each server individually, you connect your AI client once to the Gateway and instantly have access to all activated tools.

Tools are automatically namespaced (e.g. github__create_issue) to avoid naming conflicts. Containers are auto-started on demand and tool results are cached for 60 seconds for fast responses.

Bridge Agent

The Bridge Agent (v2.1) is our desktop application for accessing local resources like files, databases, and local applications. It securely connects to our platform via WebSocket and allows AI assistants to interact with resources on your computer in a controlled way.

Features include a plugin system for extensions, automatic system discovery, offline queue for interrupted connections, configurable security policies, and auto-configuration for Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Security & Transparency

Security and transparency are core pillars of our platform:

  • Credential Vault: All credentials are stored with envelope encryption (AES + HMAC) — with separate keys per tenant.
  • Multi-Tenant Isolation: Per-user containers, per-tenant encryption keys, and scoped database queries ensure complete data separation between organizations.
  • Audit Log: Comprehensive activity logging at three levels — for users (personal actions), tenant admins (organization overview), and platform admins (global overview).
  • GDPR Compliant: Hosted in Germany, DPA (Art. 28 GDPR) available, data export for users.

For Developers

MCP server developers can publish their servers on our marketplace and reach users across 30+ MCP clients including Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and Cline. We handle hosting and distribution. Developers keep 70% of revenue once billing launches. Learn more on our For Developers page.
